Just wanted to mention a technique I have been using for many years now.  Saves your props a fair bit and often the motor shaft from bending.  Usually if you just graze the prop on the ground, with a fixed prop adaptor you will break the prop.  Litt?

Dean and Chris are testing as we speak. One thing to noe is don't click on the Autonomous mode button on the "Control" tab. That needs to go away.

How-To: Valentine motor

Mrfixits writes:

This Valentine instructable shows a pair of Hearts that unite to become one! The homopolar motor is the simplest form of electric motor, consisting of a battery, a conductor, and a magnetic field. The flat Heart shape is the most basic of homopolar motors. The Heart with legs is the next most simple shape. With a little ingenuity, the two shapes can be combined to unite into one spinning body. In this Instructable, I show how to make this special 2-piece homopolar motor with a bass speaker, some coins, a battery and two pieces of copper wire. A neodymium magnet can also be used instead of the bass speaker and coins. This is a great display for Valentines Day...or any day of the year!

Ok, new idea ~4x cost improvement: Go bluetooth. It's 14 instead of 40. Connects to all smartphones, and laptops without bt can add a dongle for ~3 bucks.

Pet Zombies in 3D is a real game Majesco is releasing for 3DS

Majesco has revealed the identity of its first two potential hits on the 3DS platform -- surprisingly, neither belong to the trusted, lucrative [Gerund] Mama franchise. The first is Renegade Kid's Face Kart: Photo Finish, which lets players create a highly customizable racer or race track using the 3DS's cameras. The game will also use the handheld's gyroscopic capabilities to let players steer by tilting the system left and right. Sounds fairly promising! We enjoy Karts, and, moreso, our own faces.

The second game is 1st Playable Productions' Pet Zombies in 3D, which sees players creating and caring for their own shambling, reanimated corpses. Their ghouls will participate in mini-games to earn currency to purchase certain customizations for their undead pets and their environments. We've got our fingers crossed that this title will represent the tipping point of oversaturation for the zombie craze, leading game developers, filmmakers and authors alike to realize that this, this is what their hands have wrought.

Do you hear us, Max Brooks? Pet Zombies in 3D is all on you, man.

Museum of the Moving Image in NYC -- Signal to Noise

Opening TONIGHT! If you happen to find yourself in the greater NYC area, I highly recommend a visit to the grand re-opening of the Museum of the Moving Image. One of the hidden gems of NYC, this museum calls Astoria, Queens home and re-opens this weekend after nearly two years of renovations. I especially recommend their late-night live music event Signal to Noise. Nick Yulman and Babycastles, who were present at the first World Maker Faire last year, will be performing, along with other maker projects including hacked Gameboys, video paint rollers, laptop rockers, and more!
